There are a number of ways to access the server from outside. They are almost all available, all of the time, from all locations.

If properly configured, and you are using the Forget About IT™ email module, you should be able to access your email using your usual email program. For more information see here.

Web Browser

Using any standards-based web browser you can access a series of web-based programs. These include a file browser (which enables you to download or upload files to and from the server; Webmail, a complete web-based email client allowing you access to all your emails, and your Wiki.

Via OpenVPN

Using special software installed on your computer, you can connect to your office network and browse the server, print, and most of the things you are able to do in the office. It won't be as fast as being in the office. That is just a limitation of the speed of the broadband access at both ends.
