This will enable safe mode which will repair many problems with an Apple Mac. If the computer sucessfully boots, restart normally and see if it works.<br /> <br /> == Disk Utility ==<br /> If you have a Mac OS-X disk, insert it into the computer, and start the computer from the DVD by holding down the C key during startup. From the menu select First Aid, and then Disk Utility.<br /> <br /> == Single User ==<br /> If you do not have a startup disk, you can try starting the computer in Single User mode by holding down the Apple (Command) and S during startup. Once at the command prompt you may be able to run fsck or (preferred) ´´diskutil verify /´<br /> <br /> == Verbose==<br /> Apple(command) + V during startup will enable verbose mode which might tell you what is going on at the point of failure..
